All about choosing your seat

1How can I select my seat in the train?

You can select your seating type from among the following locations:

Location  Type of train 1st class   2nd class
Window   Window seat
Aisle   Aisle seat
Carré     4 face-to-face seats
Kiosque     Seats arranged in a U shape at the end of the train
Top Duplex trains only Location in upper main cabin
Bottom Duplex trains only Location in lower main cabin
Main cabin   Location in main cabin, not in a compartment
Compartment Corail only   
6-seat compartments 8-seat compartments
Isolé solo   Window seat, nobody next to or in  front of you, and there is often an electrical outlet    
 
Duo Vis à Vis   2 face-to-face seats  
Duo Côte à Côte   2 side-by-side seats
 
Club 4   
  4 face-to-face seats  
Club 6   
TEOZ only   6 face-to-face seats

Once your itinerary has been entered, the search engine will suggest a list of trains. Please select the time and rate desired and then choose from among the available seating options by clicking on the "Choose My Place" link.
 


 A window will be displayed with the options that you can select, according to the type of train selected, make your selection and confirm. Seating will be assigned according to your preference and availability.

2I want to sit next to a traveller that has already reserved his ticket

You can travel next to one of your acquaintances that has already reserved with a specific seat number.

Just select the train that you want and click on the "Choose my Place" link.


 
Please click on the seating window after you have selected your choice from the pull-down menu.

You can specify your seating preferences in the train, and they will be taken into account according to what is available when your order is confirmed.

The selected car and seat number are mentioned on the results page.

Your selection is taken into account under certain conditions:
  • Reservations are required for Corail and TGV trains
  • It is for a day train
  • The seat is still available
1. The site checks a seat availability according to your request. If the car and seat number requested is no longer available, it will assign you a seat that is close to your initial request.

2. In the event there are no seats available in the vicinity, the site will display a generic error message:
The site will specify the seating preference that could not be satisfied by displaying the car and seat number of the segment involved in bold red characters.

3Reserving a specific space on a night train

According to the type of train selected, you can travel in places couchettes or in reclining seats:


Location Service 1st class 2nd class
  Couchettes Bed sheet, pillow, cover, individual lighting 4 per compartment 6 per compartment
Reclining seats Seat reclines far back, fabric covering, adjustable leg rest and headrest   Aisle or window
