What is iDNIGHT ?
iDTGV issues tickets and organises Ancillary Services in iDNIGHT trains. Comprised of carriages with a seat for every passenger, the iDNIGHT train also has entertainment areas such as the iDlounge. iDNIGHT Tickets can only be ordered on the Internet. The transport service is provided by the SNCF who retains technical control of the journey, and in particular, takes on safety obligations in its capacity as a carrier. Transport of Passengers in iDNIGHT trains is provided in exchange for definitive payment beforehand of the corresponding iDNIGHT fare.
2. Rates
iDNIGHT fares are applicable whatever the passenger.
Only children under 4 years old on the date of the trip are authorised to travel for free, but, in this case, they cannot be given a specific seat. To obtain a specific seat for a child who is under 4 years old, an iDNIGHT Ticket will have to be acquired under the normal pricing conditions.
Price reductions, business cards, social, railworker or government-regulated rates or SNCF fidelity programmes, are not applicable to these prices.
Furthermore, no option linking an ancillary service such as “train +” autotrain, luggage service, etc., is available with the purchase of an iDNIGHT Ticket.
3. Ordering
Capacity
To order and pay for the Order, you must be at least 18 years of age, and legally capable of entering into and respecting these General Conditions. You are financially responsible for the Orders which are placed in your name on your behalf and that of a third party. You also guarantee the veracity and accuracy of the information you provide.
How Do I Place an Order ?
You reserve your order directly online, via the Agency Site. All the information relating to your Order will appear in your “Travel File.”
iDNIGHT Tickets can be ordered a maximum of 6 months before the date of the train’s departure. Purchasing an iDNIGHT Ticket can be done at the latest, one hour before the train leaves from the station of departure.
When you order an iDNIGHT Ticket, you choose:
- The number of Passengers;
- The dates and times of departure and/or return;
- The places of departure and arrival;
- The desired class onboard the train (1st or 2nd).
You will then see a page displayed with suggestions of iDNIGHT Tickets relating to your choices.
You now select the iDNIGHT Ticket of your choice, then ensure that it has been established with the details you entered, particularly the date and time and the station of departure, and the destination of the journey.
You then confirm your choice of iDNIGHT Ticket after having entered your contact details (surname, first name, e-mail address) and having ticked the special box to accept these General Conditions unconditionally.
You then make an online secure payment using a payment card after having entered your bank card details (type of payment card, number and expiry date) and having confirmed your transaction by clicking on “Confirm.” After confirmation of your Order, your iDNIGHT Ticket is non-refundable.
Finally, a confirmation of your Order is automatically sent to you by e-mail indicating your Travel File’s reference. This Travel File reference is personal to you. The Travel File is non-transferable.
If you buy a two-way iDNIGHT Ticket, the creating and printing-out of the iDNIGHT Ticket for the outward bound journey will not be separable from the creating and printing out of the return part of the iDNIGHT Ticket.
As a result:
- The same Passenger must travel on the two journeys;
- Exchanging an iDNIGHT Ticket is subject to the conditions delineated in article 7; in particular, your iDNIGHT return Ticket will not be able to be exchanged once you have created the iDNIGHT Ticket for the outward bound journey. In order to have an extended period of exchange, subject to the conditions in article 7, you must make two transactions for the purchase of iDNIGHT Tickets.
How to Make an Online Payment for Your Order
Payment online is made directly to iDTGV, exclusively in Euros, for minimum amounts of 1 Euro and a maximum of 800 Euros per day and per payment card.

You can create your iDNIGHT Ticket:
- Either immediately following your Order from the Agency Site ;
- Or later from the iDNIGHT Site or the Agency Site by indicating your name and Travel File reference.
After creation, your iDNIGHT Ticket, whether it has been printed out or not, is non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
After its creation, your iDNIGHT Ticket can be exchanged at the iDTGV Ticket exchange call centre under the conditions stipulated in article 7 of these General Conditions. In this case, the iDNIGHT Ticket will only be able to be printed out from the iDNIGHT Site.
Printing out is carried out from your computer which has been duly configured (you must have a computer connected to the Internet and which is equipped with Acrobat Reader software as well as a laser or jet ink printer with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
Printed Ticket® Validity Conditions
- The iDNIGHT Ticket is only valid if it is printed on white A4 paper blank on both sides, without modifying the print-out size, in portrait format (vertical) with a laser or jet ink printer. Under no circumstances can it be presented using another medium (electronic, screen, etc.) as this will invalidate the ticket. You can only print out one ticket at a time per sheet of A4 paper (no double-sided print-outs). Good printing quality is required. Partially printed, dirty, damaged or illegible iDNIGHT Tickets will not be accepted onboard and will be deemed not valid. If there is a problem or the print-out quality is not good, you will have to print out your “.pdf” file again. To check the quality of the print-out, make sure that the information on the iDNIGHT Ticket, as well as the text within the image are legible.
- The iDNIGHT Ticket is only valid subject to the effective and definitive payment of the fare directly to iDTGV no later than on the day of the journey to which the ticket relates.
- The iDNIGHT Ticket is personal and non-transferable. At inspections, it is mandatory that you present your iDNIGHT Ticket and an official piece of identity which is valid with a photograph: national identity card, passport, driving licence or residence permit. Family record books are accepted for children. The iDNIGHT Ticket is only valid for the train, date, time, class, journey and Passenger designated. In other cases, the iDNIGHT Ticket will be deemed invalid and you must obtain another iDNIGHT Ticket to be in order. The iDNIGHT Ticket must be retained until leaving the destination station. Embarkation and disembarkation must only take place at the stations indicated on your iDNIGHT Ticket. Any breach of this rule will be subject to a regularisation fee of €35.
- In addition to the aforementioned validity criteria, the iDNIGHT Ticket is also only valid subject to the inspection carried out electronically using an iDNIGHT bar-code reading device. This check definitively confirms the validity of the iDNIGHT Ticket using the latest updated information in iDNIGHT’s computer systems. In the event of an electronic inspection which confirms the invalidity of the iDNIGHT Ticket presented by the Passenger, the information contained in the bar-code reading device will serve as proof and the iDNIGHT Ticket will be deemed invalid. Except in the event of glaring errors, the Passenger recognises and accepts that information issuing from iDNIGHT computer systems as indicated by the bar-code reading device at the time of the electronic iDNIGHT Ticket inspection, has probative force in all claims or litigation relating to the validity of the iDNIGHT Ticket. This electronic information supersedes the information indicated on the iDNIGHT Ticket presented by the Passenger.
For safety reasons, you must arrive no later than 5 minutes before the train’s departure; beyond this time, you will be refused access onboard. In order to ensure the departure of iDNIGHT trains under the best possible circumstances, it is strongly advised that you arrive at the platform at least 20 minutes before the train’s departure.
The iDNIGHT Ticket does not have to be punched.
iDTGV declines any responsibility for:
- anomalies which might occur during the placing of an Order, processing or printing out the iDNIGHT Ticket, insofar as they were not caused intentionally or as a result of negligence;
- loss, theft or illicit use of the iDNIGHT Ticket.
The iDNIGHT Ticket, respecting the aforementioned regulations and whose validity is electronically verified at the time of ticket inspection, serves as proof.
In the event of failure to comply with all or part of the regulations delineated above, the iDNIGHT Ticket will be deemed invalid. Your situation can be regularised by paying the fare for a new iDNIGHT Ticket plus a flat-rate surcharge as per the conditions stipulated hereunder in Article 5.
Where Can I See a Breakdown of My Order ?
Using your name and the references of the Travel File/s which you wish to consult, you can see a breakdown of your Order on the iDNIGHT Site and/or the Agency Site, at any time up until two months after the train’s departure.
Order Confirmation
A confirmation e-mail is sent to you as soon as the Order is confirmed which gives a breakdown of your Order and in particular, shows you the references of the Travel Files/s.

You undertake to respect the cleanliness of the train and its equipment. You undertake not to damage the facilities, equipment and furniture as well as objects made available to you, particularly for planned entertainment on board. In accordance with the provisions of article 80-2 of the order of the 22nd of March, 1942, any damage to equipment is likely to be subject to the fine stipulated for fourth-class infringements.
You are obliged to sit in the seat indicated on your iDNIGHT Ticket. If you wish to make a change, you must first speak with the Supervisor who will have full authorisation to accept or refuse the change.
In iDNIGHT carriages other than those given over to entertainment such as those listed hereinafter, you undertake to respect the peace and quiet of all Passengers, particularly between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.
You undertake to comply with the instructions of the Supervisor who is in charge onboard, and generally to comply with all of the iDNIGHT crew.
WARNING: Any person who infringes the legal or regulatory provisions onboard, and whose non-compliance is likely to compromise the safety of Passengers or cause disturbance to the peace, might be ordered to disembark at the next station following observation of the facts.
iDlounge Carriage
The iDlounge is an open convivial space where Passengers wishing to take part in an activity or entertainment meet to discover the products and services of iDNIGHT’s partners, play or meet other Passengers.
In order for everyone to enjoy this space to the full, when you are in the iDlounge carriage, you undertake:

- To comply with the crew’s instructions.
The Barista reserves the right not to serve alcohol to anyone in a state of drunkenness.
The sale of alcohol to minors of under 16 is not permitted. The Barista thus reserves the right to ask Passengers for a piece of identity in order to check their age.
It is forbidden for Passengers to take with them, bring in or consume in the Bar Carriage any drink which was not purchased there.
iDNIGHT offers Passengers the opportunity of giving a musical performance in the Bar Carriage. You are obliged to comply with the choice made by the Barista for registrations, as well as with the time allotted for the performance. At any time, the Barista reserves the right to end your performance if he deems it necessary. In particular, your performance must not contain any words of a sexual or racist connotation or which could be an incitement to violence.
5. Inspection of Tickets and Regularisation
Inspection
In order to access iDNIGHT trains, the reservation of a seat and possession of an iDNIGHT Ticket, to the exclusion of any iDTGV or SNCF tickets, are obligatory.
The iDNIGHT Ticket is only valid for the train, date, time, class, journey and the Passenger designated on the ticket. In other cases, the iDNIGHT Ticket will be deemed invalid. In the same way, failing the effective and definitive payment of the iDNIGHT Ticket fare no later than on the day of the journey, the iDNIGHT Ticket will be deemed invalid. The iDNIGHT Ticket must be retained until leaving the destination station.
You must present you iDNIGHT Ticket upon the request of SNCF agents in stations and on the trains. On boarding the train, you are obliged to hold up your iDNIGHT Ticket to the bar-code reading device which will definitively confirm its validity.
iDNIGHT Tickets cannot be purchased from an SNCF agent or from the Supervisor. Consequently, if you take an iDNIGHT train without first being in possession of a valid iDNIGHT Ticket, at the time of the inspection you will be considered to be in an irregular situation.
However, if you have ordered an iDNIGHT Ticket and you are unable to present it, you can board the iDNIGHT train, after the Supervisor has checked an official piece of identity, registering your identity on the Passenger list, and following payment of the sum of 5 Euros which includes the fee for onboard issuance.
Regularisation
Commercial Regularisation
If you find yourself without an iDNIGHT Ticket or in possession of an invalid ticket, and you consult with the Supervisor of your own accord, informing him of the irregularity of your situation upon the train’s departure from the station of embarkation, you can regularise your situation on a commercial basis.
Commercial regularisations are carried out in accordance with the conditions stipulated hereunder:
- Having no ticket or an invalid ticket in an iDNIGHT train:
Whatever the journey involved, the following regularisation terms are applied:
- If you travelling in first class, you must pay the maximum fare for 1st class on the iDNIGHT price list applicable for the journey and period concerned, plus a flat-rate fee of 10 Euros for onboard issuance.
- If you are travelling in second class, you must pay the maximum fare for 2nd class on the iDNIGHT price list, applicable for the journey and period concerned, plus a flat-rate fee of 10 Euros.
The sum owing for this commercial regularisation must immediately be paid by the Passenger to the Supervisor.
- Upgrading
On board the iDNIGHT train, upgrading, i.e., a Passenger who travels in a class higher than that shown on his iDNIGHT Ticket, is subject to the prior agreement of the Supervisor with whom the Passenger must consult.
If the upgrading is authorised, the Supervisor will collect the difference between the maximum fare for 1st class on the iDNIGHT price list applicable for the journey and period concerned, less the fare paid for the ticket presented.
In the event that you should not consult with the Supervisor of your own accord, the difference in price will be charged plus a flat-rate fee of 25 Euros.
Passengers in an Irregular or Fraudulent Situation
You are in an irregular situation if, after the train’s departure and, without having first consulted with the Supervisor of your own accord, you are not able to present the Supervisor with a valid iDNIGHT Ticket, i.e., particularly if:
- You are not able to present any iDNIGHT Ticket or you present an illegible IDNIGHT Ticket;
- You present an iDNIGHT Ticket without being able to prove your identity;
- You are using your iDNIGHT Ticket under circumstances where the journey, date, time, train and class are different from those shown on your iDNIGHT Ticket;
- You are using a ticket other than an iDNIGHT Ticket;
- The invalidity of your iDNIGHT Ticket is confirmed following an electronic check carried out by the ticket inspector’s bar-code reading device.
Embarkation and disembarkation must take place at the stations indicated on your iDNIGHT Ticket. In the event of failure to comply with this stipulation, the sum of 35 Euros will have to be paid to the Supervisor per Passenger.
At the time of the inspection, if you have not already informed the Supervisor of your own accord about the irregularity of your situation under the circumstances set out above, you will have to regularise your situation by the immediate payment of a sum whose amount is stipulated above.
Any irregular situation will be subject to a report drawn up by the Supervisor and will give rise to the immediate payment of a flat-rate fee as stipulated hereunder in addition to the potential shortfall in price.
When carrying out an inspection to check for the existence and validity of Passengers’ iDNIGHT Tickets, Supervisors are authorised to take the identity and address of the offender. In the event that the Passenger objects to having his/her identity taken, which is required for making a report about the infringement, the Supervisor may call upon the assistance of an officer or policeman from the judicial police.
The applicable regularisation amounts are set in the following way:
- If you are travelling in first class, you must pay the maximum fare for 1st class on the iDNIGHT price list applicable for the journey and period concerned, plus a flat-rate fee of 25 Euros, including the fee for onboard issuance.
- If you are travelling in second class, you must pay the maximum fare for 2nd class on the iDNIGHT price list, applicable for the journey and period concerned, plus a flat-rate fee of 25 Euros, including the fee for onboard issuance.
The fee is payable by any Passenger in an irregular situation.
Furthermore, if the Supervisor observes upgrading, this gives rise to payment of the difference in fare of 30 Euros plus a flat-rate fee of 20 Euros.
You are in a fraudulent situation particularly if, within the inspection enclosure or in an iDNIGHT train:
- You use a forged iDNIGHT Ticket;
- You use a falsified iDNIGHT Ticket;
- You use an iDNIGHT Ticket made out in the name of another person;
- You use an iDNIGHT Ticket without having paid the fare.
Any fraudulent situation will be subject to a report drawn up by the Supervisor or any other person authorised to this effect and will give rise to the immediate payment of a flat-rate fee as set hereunder, added to the potential difference in fare.
- If you are travelling in first class, you must pay the maximum fare for 1st class on the iDNIGHT price list applicable for the journey and period concerned, plus a flat-rate fee of 118 Euros, including the fee for onboard issuance.
- If you are travelling in second class, you must pay the maximum fare for 2nd class on the iDNIGHT price list, applicable for the journey and period concerned, plus a flat-rate fee of 118 Euros, including the fee for onboard issuance.
The fee is payable by any Passenger in a fraudulent situation.
Any fraudulent use of an iDNIGHT Ticket can lead to its immediate confiscation and if need be, prosecution.
Moreover, if you are in possession of a forged, falsified or unpaid iDNIGHT Ticket, a plaint may be lodged against you for fraud.
Infringement reports come under the “Loi Sécurité Quotidienne” (Daily Security Law) of the 15th of November, 2001 and particularly the offence of habitual fraud.
Terms of Payment
Any collection of payments by Supervisors gives rise to a receipt which, if need be, can serve as a ticket.
When onboard iDNIGHT trains, payment can be made in cash which is legal tender in France, cheque or postal order in Euros payable in France, or by bank card (French or foreign) with the chip displaying the CB, VISA or MASTERCARD logo, with the exception of authorisation cards (whose characters and numbers are not raised). Acceptance of cheques is subject to presenting an official, valid piece of identity with photograph and a second official document if the total of the cheque amounts to more than 150 Euros. If you cannot or do not want to pay the sum asked of you straightaway and thus refuse the proposed transaction, an infringement report will be drawn up by the Supervisor. In this case, administrative charges of 38 Euros will be added to the initial sum.
You have a period of time as provided for by the law to:
- Settle the transaction amount which includes:
- The requested amount for regularisation;
- The administrative fees, in accordance with the provisions of article 529-4 of the Penal Procedure Code and those of articles 80-4 to 80-7 of the modified Order no 730 of the 22nd of March, 1942;
- Or to send a letter of dispute with reasons to iDNIGHT who will send it on to the Public Prosecutor.
When carrying out an inspection to check for the existence and validity of iDNIGHT Tickets, Supervisors are authorised to take the identity and address of the offender.
If an offender refuses or is unable to prove his/her identity, the Supervisor will immediately inform an officer of the judicial or national police who have jurisdiction in the area, who may then demand that the offender comes forward without delay.
If payment is not made within the allotted legal time period and in absence of a letter of dispute, the offender will be subject to prosecution in accordance with the provisions of articles 529-3 to 529 of the Penal Procedure Code.
In the event of an infringement not related to payment of fares, coming under the Order of the 22nd of March, 1942, the maximum amount of the legal flat-rate fee is 144 Euros.
6. Timetable
iDTGV undertakes to keep to the timetable published on the date of the Order. In the event that, for reasons not attributable to iDTGV, there should be a modification of the timetable before the date of departure, iDTGV will do its maximum to inform you as soon as possible.
In the event that the iDNIGHT train should arrive at the terminal 60 minutes later than the planned schedule, and if the delay is attributable to the SNCF in its capacity as a carrier, you will be offered financial compensation of 10 Euros, as a goodwill commercial gesture.
This commitment is not applicable if the delay is not attributable to the SNCF, or when the delay is under 60 minutes. A delay which is not attributable to the SNCF would consist of a blatant act of malevolence, a demonstration by people not associated with the SNCF, an obstacle on the track, a climatic incident, accidents to people or security alerts at the station. A delay attributable to the SNCF would be characterised in particular by equipment failure, or catenary incidents.
iDNIGHT endeavours to inform by e-mail (to the address left by the Passenger at the time of the Order) all Passengers as to the reasons for the delay and the goodwill commercial gesture afforded them.
7. Exchange and Refunds
Exchange
The iDNIGHT Ticket is exclusively valid on the train for which you made your Order. You will have to exchange the iDNIGHT Ticket in order to change any of the following details regarding the journey:
- The day and/or time of departure;
- The place of departure and/or destination;
- The class.
Exchange is not possible unless all of the following conditions have been fulfilled:
- The iDNIGHT Ticket is only exchangeable for another iDNIGHT Ticket or for an iDTGV Ticket, to the exclusion of any other tickets, particularly SNCF tickets (TGV, Corail, etc.);
- The fare for the initial iDNIGHT Ticket allows for it to be exchanged (certain promotional fares may be non-exchangeable);
- The iDNIGHT Ticket has not been created: the iDNIGHT Ticket is exchangeable until its creation; the stage at which the iDNIGHT Ticket is personalised by entering surname, first name and date of birth of the Passenger and confirming these details before printing out. Once the ticket has been created, exchange is no longer possible;
- Exchange must take place no later than the day before departure and within the opening hours of the iDNIGHT Ticket exchange call centre: no exchange can take place on the same day or after the train’s departure;
- There are seats available in the new iDNIGHT or iDTGV train chosen.

. The call centre opening hours are the following:
- Everyday (including Bank Holidays)
- From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
This service is only available in the French language.
Exchanging an iDNIGHT Ticket gives rise to a deduction. This deduction is 10 Euros inc. tax, applicable per trip and per iDNIGHT Ticket exchanged (1 trip = 1-way ticket; 1 return iDNIGHT Ticket = 2 trips), and this applies whatever the number of changes made. Furthermore, if there is a difference between the fare paid for the initial iDNIGHT Ticket and the fare for the new iDNIGHT or iDTGV Ticket, you must pay the difference in fare, over and above the administrative fees.
If you have ordered a return iDNIGHT Ticket, the ticket for your outward bound journey is personalised at the same time as your return ticket. If you wish to exchange your iDNIGHT Tickets more easily, you are welcome to make two separate reservations.
The exchange of an iDNIGHT Ticket for an iDTGV Ticket, which is subject to these exchange conditions, implies acceptance of iDTGV’s General Conditions. The Order, the new ticket and its use aboard, as well as transport, will thus be subject to iDTGV’s General Conditions.
Passengers who have benefited from a group reduction (more than 4 passengers having reserved together), are subject to special exchange regulations. In effect, exchange must be carried out for the same number of passengers.
Before contacting our call centre, you must check journey availability on our website www.iDNIGHT.com
Payment is made exclusively in Euros and by payment card.
Confirmation of exchange is automatically sent by e-mail. You can then print out your new iDNIGHT Ticket, only from the iDNIGHT website.
Example: 2 people who wish to exchange their two one-way tickets to Marseilles purchased at 39.90 Euros per ticket, for 2 one-way tickets to Avignon at 49.90 Euros per ticket, will have to pay a 10 Euro fee and 10 Euros for the difference in fare per ticket, being a total of 40 Euros for the 2 tickets.
Refunds
iDNIGHT does not make any refunds, except in cases relating to delays and in the conditions stipulated in article 6 above, or in the event of cancellation by iDTGV.

9. Groups
Group reservation on iDNIGHT journeys is possible, limited to 12 people.
Groups larger than 4 Passengers benefit from a discount. To take advantage from this discount, reservation, payment and creation of the iDNIGHT Tickets must be carried out by one person. One single Travel File will thus bring together all of the tickets.
Exchange of iDNIGHT Tickets benefiting from group rates is only possible on the condition that all of the iDNIGHT Tickets from the Travel File are exchanged, and modified in the same way (train, day and/or time of departure, place of departure and/or destination, class).
Groups, in particular, must ensure that the special regulations stipulated in article 4 are respected. In effect, they undertake:
- Not to consume their own alcohol anywhere on the train;
- Not to smoke anywhere on the train;
- Not to disturb the peace and quiet of passengers in cars not given over to entertainment, between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.;
- Not to damage equipment and to respect the cleanliness of the train;
- To comply with the iDNIGHT crew’s instructions.
10. Luggage
The luggage that you bring aboard the iDNIGHT is under your surveillance and remains your responsibility during the entire journey. Any risk of loss, damage or theft is your liability.
The following choice of luggage is authorised onboard free of charge:
- Two pieces of hand luggage (suitcases, rucksacks, travel bags) per passenger;
- One piece of hand luggage per Passenger and, at the rate of one object per Passenger: a child’s pushchair; a wheelchair; a bicycle whose wheels are dismantled and put together in a special cover of 1.20 x 0.90 m. maximum; a surfboard in a cover of 1.20 x 0.90 m. maximum; a pair of skis; a monoski; or a snowboard.
- One piece of hand luggage per Passenger and a piece of luggage 50 cm x 50 cm x 50 cm, or
- One piece of hand luggage per Passenger and a musical instrument.
Passengers wishing to travel with more than two pieces of luggage must purchase an iDNIGHT luggage Ticket which costs 35 Euros per piece of additional luggage, by contacting the iDNIGHT call centre. Each Passenger is limited to two additional iDNIGHT luggage Tickets amongst the categories set forth above. In the event of an irregular situation, the regularisation cost will be 45 Euros per piece of luggage in an irregular situation.
The iDNIGHT luggage Ticket sales service is only reachable by telephone. The call centre is open everyday (including Sundays and Bank Holidays), from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can reach one of our sales advisors on 0 980 982 982 - non-premium rate call
everyday (including Sundays and Bank Holidays) from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can purchase your iDNIGHT luggage Ticket no later than on the day before your departure.
The iDNIGHT luggage Ticket is non-refundable, not modifiable and must be presented on the platform to the iDNIGHT Supervisor along with your Passenger Ticket in order to board. This iDNIGHT luggage Ticket is for you to print out in PDF format using Acrobat Reader software.
Each piece of luggage put onto the train must be identifiable as belonging to a particular Passenger; any non-identified object will be deemed suspect and may be destroyed by the relevant services. Consequently, you must indicate your surname and first name in a visible manner on your luggage when you wish to place it in the area located above and below your reserved seat, as well as the collective areas specially for this purpose in the carriages. Labels are available to Passengers in SNCF railway stations.
Luggage must not be a hindrance to Passengers’ free movement onboard and not be a liability to people’s safety. It is left to the Supervisor to judge whether the luggage conforms to these stipulations. Passengers with unauthorised luggage will not be accepted onboard if they cannot part with it.
Note:
The boarding platform is reserved for Passengers holding an iDNIGHT Ticket. Therefore, you cannot be accompanied by a third party to the train’s door, particularly to help you carry your luggage. Nevertheless, a Passenger with an iDNIGHT luggage Ticket can be helped to carry a large piece of luggage to the train’s door. However, the third party will not be permitted to get onboard the iDNIGHT.
11. Pets
How Do I Purchase a Ticket for my Pet ?
Normally, no animals are permitted in carriages used to transport Passengers.
However, animals which meet certain criteria are permitted onboard the iDNIGHT.
To be accepted onboard the iDNIGHT, “small-sized animals” must be transported in a carrier which is properly closed (whose dimensions must not exceed 45 cm x 30 cm x 25 cm) and must weigh under 6 kilos. In this case, the animal can travel free of charge and you will not need to present a pet ticket.
“Large-sized animals” weighing over 6 kilos, as well as “small-sized animals” weighing less than 6 kilos, but kept outside of a carrier of the authorised dimensions, are accepted onboard on the condition that they are muzzled and on a leash and on presentation of an iDNIGHT pet Ticket (limited to two iDNIGHT pet Tickets per Passenger). The fare is 35 Euros. In an irregular situation, the cost for regularisation will be 45 Euros.
In all cases, the presence of an animal onboard the iDNIGHT is subject to the absence of any objections made by the other Passengers.
Important: iDTGV does not sell iDNIGHT Tickets for pets on the Internet. In the same way, iDNIGHT Tickets for pets cannot be purchased at railway station kiosks or in travel agencies; if they have been acquired in this way, they will be deemed invalid on the iDNIGHT.
The sales service for iDNIGHT pet Tickets is only reachable by telephone. The call centre is open everyday (including Sundays and Bank Holidays), from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can contact one of our sales advisors on 0 980 982 982 - non-premium rate call
. You can purchase your iDNIGHT pet Ticket no later than on the day before your departure and within the opening times of the iDTGV/iDNIGHT ticket exchange call centre.
The iDNIGHT pet Ticket is non-refundable and not modifiable. This ticket is for you to print out in the PDF format using Acrobat Reader software. It must be presented to the staff on the platform along with your iDNIGHT Ticket in order to board the train. The validity of the iDNIGHT pet Ticket is checked electronically by the bar-code reading system under the same conditions as those specified above for the iDNIGHT Ticket.
What are the Access Conditions for my Pet ?
You undertake to ensure that the presence of your pet does not disturb the other Passengers. It is left for the Supervisor to judge as to the enforcement of regulations relating to the transport of pets and, if need be, to relocate the Passenger and his/her pet if this latter is disturbing other Passengers. Passengers with pets who do not comply with access conditions to the iDNIGHT will not be allowed to board if they cannot part with their pet.
Guide and service dogs travel free of charge on iDNIGHT according to the conditions specified in article 8 above.

Security code
What is the security code ?
It is the last 3 figures printed on the back of your banker's card. Please enter these last 3 figures.

How does the security code protect me against fraud ?
A fraudster who has only got to know the number of your banker's card (which is printed on some shops' till receipts) cannot find out the security code given on the back of your banker's card. Therefore, if this should happen, by making entry of the security code mandatory when paying on line we prevent a fraudster from buying on line in your place. Since September 2003, several banks have made the entry of the security code by their customers mandatory for the acceptance of Internet or telephone purchases. In January 2004, all the banks will make this entry mandatory.
Entry of the security code is an additional precaution that TGV-Europe.com and the SNCF, in close cooperation with the banks, have taken to provide you with better protection against any fraudsters.
This is why, TGV-Europe.com and the SNCF ask you to enter your security code on the site.

The digital code
What is the digital code?
This 4-digit code is located on the front side of your card, and is not embossed. Since January 2004, all banks now require this to be entered.

The digit code protects you from fraud
Anyone who has only obtained your bank card number and wants to use your card fradulently cannot know the security code or cryptogramme mentioned on the back of your card (your bank card number is sometimes printed on certain sales receipts).
Entering your digital code when making an on-line payment thus protects you from this type of fraud.
TGV-Europe.com and SNCF thus prompt you to enter your digital code on the site.
We do not keep records of digital codes.
